I Bargained With Life For A Penny

“I bargained with Life for a penny,
And Life would pay no more,
However I begged at evening
When I counted my scanty store.
For Life is a just employer,
He gives you what you ask,
But once you have set the wages,
Why, you must bear the task.
I worked for a menial’s hire,
Only to learn, dismayed,
That any wage I had asked of Life,
Life would have willingly paid.”

Jessie Belle Rittenhouse (1869–1948)

Hi all,

Well, it’s been an interesting couple of days ! Solo ad number five has launched and as a result I’ve passed my first ‘goal’ – 100 subscribers !  🙂

Welcome, welcome, welcome to you all !

Ok, it’s maybe not the biggest mile stone in one’s Internet Marketing life, but even a list of 100,000 has to pass 100 first. (continue reading…)

No, only kidding 🙂

But I wanted to post today about a tricky issue that I need to overcome, namely, how to promote affiliate offers to my subscribers – which is, after all, the bones of an Email Marketing business.

The traditional approach tends towards the type of thing we all see all day in adverts around us. Sensational headline to get our attention followed by an engaging sales pitch and finally a call to action – ‘buy now’ or whatever variation the ad is using. (continue reading…)

Well, I mentioned solo ad number four was due to run soon (see here for that post) and it is now done and dusted, so how did it do ?

I ordered 200 clicks and had 227 delivered, so nice work by the seller – an extra 27 clicks for free.

81.49% of my clicks were from Tier 1 countries, that is, U.S.A, Canada, U.K, New Zealand and Australia. Internet Marketers refer to these as T1, it’s not meant to mean any disrespect to countries outside of that group, but in terms of cash spent etc these are the big 5.  (continue reading…)

Without a doubt it’s always a good idea to have goals in life – and business – and at the moment I have a number. I have materialistic goals as follows:

Gibson SJ200 guitar  $3,000

E class Mercedes $50,000

New house  $500,000

Hi, I seem to be doing a lot of ‘what is’ posts !

A solo ad is where someone who already has a list of subscribers promotes your offer or page (or whatever) to their list.

You pay them (generally) and they offer you a certain amount of ‘clicks’ to your ad for a set amount. At the time of writing I’m looking at around 75 cents in general for clicks.

Each solo ad seller will state what ‘niche’ they can offer clicks in, so someone might be able to sell me clicks in the Internet Marketing niche or Survival niche etc.

The clicks are usually sold in packages of say 100 clicks and beyond, with a better discount to be had the more clicks you buy. I did see an offer for 10,000 clicks at 50 cents a click – so $5000 in total ! (continue reading…)
